Our Story
From Innovation to Industry Leadership
Cambridge Broadband Networks was founded in 2000 by a team of engineers from the University of Cambridge with a shared vision to address the growing demand for mobile communications through innovative wireless technology.
That vision led to the development of VectaStar, a point-to-multipoint wireless platform that established the company as a leader in licensed wireless networking. Today, VectaStar has been deployed by service providers in more than 50 countries, supporting mobile backhaul, enterprise connectivity, and broadband access for millions of users.

A New Chapter
In 2020, Cambridge Broadband Networks was restructured to better serve the evolving needs of the telecommunications industry. This marked the formation of Cambridge Broadband Networks Group (CBNG) and Cambridge Broadband Networks Africa (CBNL Africa).
CBNG focuses on developing advanced wireless technologies and supporting customers with planning tools, network design, implementation, technical support, and managed services.
Working in partnership with CBNG, CBNL Africa delivers these technologies across Africa through local engineering expertise, deployment, implementation, and long-term support.
